GOD'S MIRACLE AND HEALING
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.
Luke 4:18-19.
Believe or not, but a miracle happened
I
have been working in Bangkok, Jakarta and Singapore during the past 6
years
since we left London, and was also in Perth for 2 years.
Recently I haven't been able to find a suitable job in Perth,
so I have been in Thailand and Singapore these past months.
In Thailand I met
an old friend from London- he was a bible student in Wales
and was then at Kensington Temple and Westminster Chapel.
He used to reach out to fellow Thai students in London,
and I met him through an ex-missionary family.
We supported him
financially in the '80's but after we went to Malaysia in 1993 I lost
touch.
I met him by accident in Pattaya, a resort city southeast of Bangkok,
just 3 weeks after I arrived.
I was driving past a church by accident, in Pattaya
and I felt the Lord ask me to turn around and stop at the church.
When I went in the girl at the counter (it is also a drop-in centre) she
told me the pastor's name.
And it was the same guy! What a miracle, after 17 years.
That Christmas (2004) Vicky and children came over and we all met up with
his family
and had a mini-holiday on an island in the southeast.
Since them I have
been supporting his church ("The Lighthouse") with tithes each
month,
and they have set up a rehabilitation outreach to prostitutes and bar-girls
from the Pattaya red light district.
